Are you a serious fan of daylight?  You might want to look into the products from Solatube.  Solatube allows you to have natural lighting in rooms without windows.  The design is fairly simple.  A clear plastic piece captures sunlight.  The light is transfered down a reflective tube and out of a fixture into your home.  They come in 10", 14", and 21" models.  The 21" model is capable of producing the same amount of light as a 400W bulb.  It will never run up your power bill and you'll never have to change a bulb.  The 10" kit starts at around $250.
